I AM GIVING MY MOVIE REVIEW OF " SARDAR" by Ketan Mehta
This movie is directed by Ketan Mehta and written by noted playwright Vijay Tendulker.
First , what we understand by the word "Independence" and "Freedom". Independence means you are officialy free which we got in 1947, when Freedom means " you are free, when you feel free" in short Independence is absolute. freedam is subjective.
This movie is Ketan Mehata's nationail award wining and an Indian Biopic on Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. A movie showcases the picture of fight for Independence. In begining there were a lot of photoes of Sardar which were took also as symbol or evidence. When Ghandhi was in Godhra 1917 he told in his speech that we should speak our mother language not British language, it show that people should give respect to our nation. we can also see some symbols, in this first "Bardoli Satyagrah" ,it symbolies the great sunrise for people.Specially Women were also supported for this fight but we can also see little bit inferiority of women. second is a song sung by women is a new way of spreading message to the people. There was a positive view for politics by said" Politics is an art of making impossible to possible" . we can also see the better democrasy when Sardar said to the people of Junagagh that "you can live where you want either in Hindustan or Pakistan.
In the meeting of leaders , there was a map of India with bounded feet of Bharat Mata , it symbolises that still the India is under British control. The last and most use symbol in a movie is Newspapers it is a great medium to spreading messages of each and every events that happened. After got independence the last words of Sardar was"Today from Kashmir to Kanyakumari, there is one independent nation".
In short , it is good movie , now we are independent but still freedom can't come to do what we want ,we are bounded by social, religious, political, cultural systems etc.we are successful in getting Independence but Freedom has't come. We can take a poem "A MYSTERIOS MARRIAGE"as a reference, in it the Freedom compare with a girl and Independence with a boy. so , both things are neccessary in our life.
