Review of a movie 'Robinson Crusoe' directed by Road Hardy.
The movie Robinson Crusoe started in London 1718, Crusoe dressed as a Englishman. After he killed his own friend , he is successful in escaping from there.Then he started his first voyage and it is very successful, he started his second voyage but unfortunately in second voyage ship was became a prey of dangerous storm. Next morning he found himself in an Ireland and at this point he started his precious journey.
Cannibalism
we can also find the cannibalism in this movie , when he found footprint of someone, and that is of cannibal's. Then, he heard a strange voice which he never heard before , it is of cannibal's.He went to search that voice and he found cannibals and saw their hastage dance by seeing this he socked that how men can enjoy the death of others. In that scene, we find cannibalism.He tries to save that man and that man try to thank Crusoe but he doesn't know the language of Crusoe. So we find language barrier here. That man put Crusoe's feet on his shoulder as token of thanks.
colonialism
Colonialism , also present in this movie and in a form of master and slave relationship.As a Crusoe taught Friday first word is 'Master' , it is enough to understand the colonial ideas. Whites are try to control over Blakes ,as Crusoe treats Friday as a slave.As he allow him to sleep outside his wooden house. Friday feel Inferiority , somehow we can say that.
Religion v\s Nature
We can also find the Religion v\s other cultures in this movie during the discussion between Crusoe and Friday about the religion and God that Crusoe introduced some elements of Christianity like Bible , holy water. so by this Crusoe tries to prove that Christ is a real God but Friday not ready to accept it , Friday believe that Crocodile is a real God as a part of a Nature.
Still Crusoe tries to believe Friday that who is a real God for that he shaw him Bible ,but Friday try to burn it. so this type of religion conflict found in ths movie.
So, in this movie,we can find many concept to criticise English culture ,slavery system etc.But at the end, Crusoe's feelings change towards Friday and Friday also sacrifice his own life for his Master and True Friend, it shows honesty towards his master.
